Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (PT) aims to enhance and restore functional mobility and quality of life in individuals with physical impairments that limit their abilities to move and perform their daily activities easily.

Corrective exercises

We all know we need to exercise. I’m not here to tell you to “get to the gym”. I will challenge you though to assess how much you actually move during the day. Unfortunately, one hour at the gym doesn’t make up for 8 hours of sitting at your desk. Lack of movement during the day is often what leads to muscle and joint aches and pains, decreases mobility, flexibility, and other ailments. Or you may have an injury or recovering from surgery that requires specific rehabilitation interventions to get you back to your baseline. Learn corrective exercises, that address your imbalances, and fit into your schedule, to improve your physical foundation, function, blood flow, alignment, mobility, flexibility and strength. Perfect to receive over a Telehealth session.

Pelvic Health

Pelvic rehabilitation is a specialization within physical therapy that requires extensive training enabling Physical Therapists to successfully diagnose and treat many conditions such has incontinence, and pain with sex. Often, women have multiple symptoms correlated to pelvic issues such as pain in the low back, groin, hip, coccyx (tailbone), sacroiliac (SI) joint and abdomen.  Pelvic health includes care for women across the lifespan from pre-teens to post-menopausal, including post surgical care. Pelvic rehabilitation therapy is also a great benefit during prenatal, pregnancy and post-partum care. Many aspects can be addressed remotely via phone or TeleHealth consults such as diet and other lifestyle modifications, depending on your presentation. You will also learn self-treatment strategies to do on your own at home. Addressing these aspects of your symptoms will give you a head start to your recovery. Manual Therapy

Correcting imbalances found in the musculoskeletal system may be an important part of your treatment plan. Manual evaluation and treatment can help restore joint mobility, muscle length, release muscle trigger point or other neuro-muscular reset. Tara has over 8 years of experience doing manual therapy.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a myo-fascial trigger point release technique used with very thin monofilament needles without any medications. The treatment aims to restore muscle function and myofascial structure improving movement and strength. Dry needling may be a significant complement your overall treatment plan.
